Computer configuration
For the initial connection to the XnTcp interface, the TCP/IP settings of the computer need to be changed. If your computer is connected to a LAN or to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), take note of the original setting in order to restore them after having initialized the board.
- Windows® XP
- Select Settings->Control Panel->Network Connections->Local Area Connection
- Select Properties->Internet Protocol[TCP/IP]->General
- Take note of the present settings before changing them
- Click on Use the following IP address
- Type 10.1.0.100 in the IP address box
- Type 255.0.0.0 in the Subnet mask box
- The remaining settings are irrelevant
- Exit the Internet Protocol[TCP/IP] Properties window clicking on OK
- Exit the Local Area Connection Properties window clicking on OK
- Exit the Local Area Connection Status window clicking on Close
- Mac OS®/X
- Select System Preferences->Network
- Click on the TCP/IP tag
- Take note of the present settings before changing them.
Even better, duplicate the present Location and apply the changes to the copy.

- Select Configure IPv4 Manually
- Type 10.1.0.100 in the IP address box
- Type 255.0.0.0 in the Subnet mask box
- The remaining settings are irrelevant
- Click on Apply Now
- Close the Network window
- Other operating systems
- Take note of the present settings before changing them
- Disable DHCP
- Set the IP address to 10.1.0.100
- Set the Subnet mask to 255.0.0.0

To test the communication:
- Make sure that the XnTcp is connected to the computer (or to the LAN) and it is up and running (red LED blinking);
- Connect with a Web Browser as described in HTTP connection
- The introduction page of the Modtronix SBC65EC Web Server should appear in the Web Browser.
