Installing the IC socket

The installation of the socket for the MAX485 is rather simple. The only aspects to be cared about are:

• choosing its orientation;
• avoiding to place it on the pads marked in red or blue in the picture;
• leaving at least one free row of pads on each side, for the connection of wires; and
• using a limited amount of tin, in order to avoid shortcutting neighbor pads.
