Q-emuLator's features
Q-emuLator for Mac OS runs on any system from the Mac Classic to the latest Power Macintosh models.
The commercial versions require System 7 or later, a color monitor and 4MB of RAM for version 2.2 (PowerPC native) or 8MB of RAM for version 3.0 (for 68K Macs).
Q-emuLator for Windows runs on any system with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP or later.
The following is a list of the main Q-emuLator's features:
- excellent compatibility with QL programs
- hundred times faster than a QL on recent Mac and PC systems
- emulation of QL video, keyboard, sound, serial ports; the PC version supports also joystick and parallel ports
- access to both QDOS floppy disks and either Mac or Windows files; the Windows version can also access QXL.WIN files; format QL floppy disks on Mac OS and Windows NT/2000/XP
- built-in ram disk driver
- mouse emulation under the Pointer Environment with the included mouse driver
- QL with up to 16MB RAM (4MB for the Macintosh version) and up to two 16KB expansion ROMs
- compatible with all the Sinclair ROM versions
- compatible with the Minerva ROM
- Windows version compatible with recent versions of SMSQ/E for the (Super) Gold Card
- TCP/IP driver (Windows version only)
- edit QL and Q-emuLator settings through a user-friendly interface
- comprehensive online user's manual
Note: some of these features may not be available in the 'Original QL' level of registration on Windows.
